Sarah Gochenaur serves as the Development Officer at Muslim Advocates. Her work involves connecting individual supporters with the Muslim Advocates mission through events, campaigns, and independent contributions.
Prior to joining Muslim Advocates, Sarah served as the Corporate Partnership Specialist at the Capital Area Food Bank. During her time at the Food Bank, she coordinated numerous corporate volunteer activities for groups of up to 400 people. She ran the Food Bank's annual Food From The Bar campaign in 2019, setting a new record for most funds raised in the campaign's 11-year history.
Sarah is a skilled facilitator and helped to develop the Food Bank's Face Hunger program, an immersive conversation around poverty in the DC region. Over 1.5 years, she facilitated Face Hunger for over 2,500 participants as a means to spread awareness and empathy for community members experiencing food insecurity. She has spoken at venues such as the Aspen Institute, The World Bank, Georgetown University, and Leadership Greater Washington.
Sarah is a proud Americorp alumna having served through Playworks during the 2015-2016 term.
