Laila is a development coordinator at Muslim Advocates.
Prior to joining Muslim Advocates, Laila served as an associate in the office of the president at the American University in Cairo. There, she was responsible for executive communication and community engagement projects.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Laila has been a dedicated advocate for Muslim and immigrant communities. As a project coordinator at the Change Agency, she worked on the implementation of a citywide immigrant inclusion plan. While at the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh, Laila conducted community-based needs assessments as a research fellow, and later led the Center’s first strategic planning process as its assistant director.
Laila graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, earning a BA in Political Science and minors in Arabic and Public Service.
