Aleja Cretcher is the administrative assistant at Muslim Advocates. Prior to joining Muslim Advocates, Aleja worked on donor relations, execution of fundraising events, and organizational operations as an intern with the Alliance for Justice development team. She also worked with the outreach team on community organizing, research, and coalition building with a focus on federal judicial nominations and access to the courts. Prior to her time at Alliance for Justice, Aleja interned at the Oceanic Preservation Society, where she worked on environmental campaigns related to deforestation, collective action, and creative methods of advocacy.
Aleja is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, where she majored in Society and the Environment with a focus on environmental justice and the ways in which environmental risk is unevenly distributed along race and class lines.
