FOIA Request Overview

In December 2017, Muslim Advocates filed a series of public records requests under state and federal freedom of information laws seeking information about the operation of Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) programs in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Muslim Advocates submitted requests to the U.S. Department of Justice, Montgomery County Police Department, and Montgomery County Office of Community Partnerships regarding the operation of CVE programs that targeted the Muslim community in Montgomery County, Maryland.
