FOIA Request Overview

In May 2018, Muslim Advocates submitted a Massachusetts Public Records Act request on behalf of the Muslim Justice League seeking information about the operation of Countering Violent Extremism (“CVE”) programming in the Boston area that target communities of color, Muslims, and immigrants.

Muslim Advocates submitted requests to the Boston Police Department and Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services, seeking documents that illuminate the how these agencies are developing CVE programs in Boston that are especially focused on the Somali community.
