FOIA Request Overview

In March 2017, Muslim Advocates and the Roderick & Solange MacArthur Justice Center submitted a FOIA request to the Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”) regarding searches of personal electronic devices at the border.

After DHS refused to produce documents responsive to the request, Muslim Advocates and the MacArthur Justice Center sued. As part of the lawsuit, documents are being produced on an ongoing basis.
