Denaturalization is the process by which the federal government can take away a naturalized citizen’s citizenship. In the past, denaturalization cases were quite rare. However, they have significantly increased under the Trump administration. Recently, the U.S. Department of Justice even created a specialized section to further drive the administration’s denaturalization efforts.
