Chapel Hill Murders
Overview
On February 10, 2015, Deah Shaddy Barakat, his wife Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, and her sister, Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, were brutally murdered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. At a time when hate violence against American Muslims around the country was at an all-time high, and when members of the community feared for their lives, Muslim Advocates legal team represented the Barakats and Abu-Salhas and led the effort to ensure the federal government conducted a thorough investigation into the murders.
