Solidarity is more than something we believe in. It’s something we do. What does it mean to stand with one another when our rights, freedoms and communities are under threat? On October 22, Muslim Advocates invites you to Solidarity in Action, an evening that brings together artists, advocates, community leaders, partners and friends to explore that question. Through art, personal storytelling and the work of defending civil rights, we’ll reflect on the power of showing up for one another and what it takes to turn solidarity into meaningful change

At the heart of the evening: Leqaa Kordia
We are honored to welcome Leqaa Kordia as our featured speaker. After more than a year in immigration detention, Leqaa was released in March 2026, following a legal victory secured by Muslim Advocates and co-counsel.

Leqaa will share her story in her own words, a reminder that behind every legal case is a human life, a community and a future worth defending, and that the work of protecting our freedoms continues.

WITNESS: Solidarity means showing up.
Syed Yaqeen’s photography captures moments of community, faith, protest and public life. It reminds us that solidarity begins with being present, paying attention and refusing to look away.

SEE: Solidarity begins with seeing one another.
Nzingah Oyo’s portraits center individuality, dignity and humanity. Beyond the headlines and public debates are people whose lives, stories and rights deserve to be seen and valued.

ACT: Solidarity becomes action.
Muslim Advocates turns conviction into legal action, advocacy and collective power. We defend people whose rights have been violated, challenge discriminatory policies, and work alongside partners and communities to make justice more than a promise.
Witnessing injustice matters. Seeing one another matters. What we do next matters, too.

What does solidarity ask of you?
At the center of our gathering, the Solidarity Mirror invites every guest to answer one question. A promise. A commitment. A willingness to listen, speak, defend or stand alongside someone else. As the evening unfolds, each answer becomes part of a shared story.
