Muslim Advocates Forcefully Condemns Racist Entry Bans
New York, N.Y. — Muslim Advocates forcefully condemns President Trump’s new and expanded Muslim and African ban, issued on June 4, 2025. The ban bars entry to people from 19 countries, all majority Black or Brown, eight of which are majority Muslim. This ban is the latest prong of the administration’s white nationalist, anti-immigrant and anti-dissent agenda.
“The Trump Administration has once again imposed a ban intended to exclude people from our society based on their race, religion, and national origin,” said Muslim Advocates Legal Director Golnaz Fakhimi. “We unequivocally condemn this white supremacist, Christian nationalist attack on the pluralistic fabric of this nation. We remember all too clearly the chaos, cruelty, and family separations caused by the first Muslim and African bans—harms that have never been fully addressed. Today’s action repeats that shameful history: deepening the trauma for countless families and communities across the U.S.. We will work alongside partners and impacted communities nationwide to oppose this racist policy. Why? Because our nation’s diversity is its strength, and the diversity that immigrants contribute is invaluable.”
Muslim Advocates is co-counsel in the Emami v. Nielsen litigation, which secured an injunction for 25,000 people wrongfully denied visas under Trump’s previous Muslim Ban and co-leads the No Muslim Ban Ever coalition, a network of over 200 progressive, faith, immigrant, and civil and human rights groups.
