Issue:

Bring Leqaa Home

On Thursday, June 5th Muslim Advocates and Co-Counsel will be in Federal Court in Dallas, TX demanding her freedom!

On March 13, 2025, Leqaa Kordia, a Palestinian Muslim and New Jersey resident, was arrested by ICE after voluntarily meeting with DHS agents. She was taken over 1,500 miles away to a Texas detention facility, where she has been held for 85 days despite an immigration judge granting her release on bond. Leqaa’s confinement is part of a broader government crackdown on Palestinian rights advocacy and follows extensive DHS surveillance of her and her community. While in custody, she has faced cruel conditions, including the denial of basic religious accommodations, such as the ability to pray and access to halal food, impacting her health and violating her rights. Her legal team will appear in court on June 5—the day before Eid ul Adha—to fight for her release. This marks 11 weeks of unjust separation from her family and community. Leqaa spent both Ramadan and Eid ul Fitr wrongfully confined; now, the call is clear: Let Leqaa come home for Eid.
