March 24, 2022
Since its founding, Muslim Advocates has been committed to protecting the civil rights of American Muslims and all Americans regardless of race, religion, sex, place of birth, ability, income, education, gender identity, sexual orientation, sect of worship, or level of religiosity. Former executive director Farhana Khera led and grew the organization from its founding in 2005, achieving many historic and vital wins for civil rights for American Muslims and all Americans.
Although Ms. Khera has departed Muslim Advocates, it is her hope and expectation that Muslim Advocates can and will continue to do good work in pursuit of its mission on behalf of the Muslim community. Muslim Advocates is grateful to Ms. Khera for her leadership and contributions to the organization over the past fifteen-plus years. In recognition of our shared history and common sense of purpose, Muslim Advocates and Ms. Khera remain united in our commitment to Muslim Advocates’ goal of protecting the civil rights of all American Muslims. Ms. Khera wishes the organization much continued success in the years to come, and she encourages those who have supported the organization in the past to remain engaged.
