Muslim Advocates Welcomes New Director of Development

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Hani Almadhoun begins his tenure as director of development at Muslim Advocates, a national civil rights organization that works to stop bigotry in its tracks. Almadhoun will serve on the organization’s senior management team and will be responsible for development strategy, donor engagement and all fundraising activities.

“I am thrilled that Hani will be taking the reins of Muslim Advocates’ fundraising team,” said Muslim Advocates Executive Director Farhana Khera. “At a time when families are being torn apart by the Muslim Ban and the civil rights of American Muslims are under constant assault, Hani’s years of experience fundraising for human rights and civil rights causes will be a major asset as we work to secure the resources to help us meet our mission of ensuring that all Americans can live free from hate and discrimination.”

Hani Almadhoun comes to Muslim Advocates from American Near East Refugee Aid, where he served as director of donor development and managed donor relations and fundraising for the humanitarian and relief organization. He has also developed donor relations and fundraising experience in prior roles at the Jerusalem Fund and the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee. Additionally, Almadhoun is a board member at the DC chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He previously was a board member for the Main Street Child Development Center and is a former treasurer of American Muslim Health Professionals.

Muslim Advocates is a national civil rights organization working in the courts, in the halls of power and in communities to halt bigotry in its tracks. We ensure that American Muslims have a seat at the table with expert representation so that all Americans may live free from hate and discrimination.
