Muslim Advocates Responds to Trump Statement on Charlottesville Violence

Washington, DC – The following is a reaction to today’s remarks from President Trump regarding Saturday’s white nationalist rally in Charlottesville from Muslim Advocates’ Executive Director Farhana Khera:

“This acknowledgment does not even begin to make up for President Trump’s years of riling up white nationalists.

He still failed to call this act of violence what it is: domestic terrorism.

What speaks louder than his words are the deaths and the universal nationwide condemnation it took to get these crumbs of acknowledgment.

If the President is serious about disassociating with white supremacists, he’ll start by ejecting them from the White House: Bannon and Gorka have to go.”
