Muslim Advocates welcomes President Obama’s announcement that he will celebrate America’s religious diversity with his first visit to an American mosque. As incidents of anti-Muslim hate and violence have risen in recent months, Muslim Advocates has urged President Obama to visit a mosque to remind Americans that Muslims have been a part of our nation since its founding and to recommit to our founding principles of religious freedom. Our nation is stronger and safer when Americans stand together, and the President’s visible leadership is vital and timely.
