Muslim Advocates Asks DOJ to Investigate Irving High School and Police Department

Today, Muslim Advocates sent a letter to Assistant Attorney General Vanita Gupta asking that the Department of Justice conduct a speedy, comprehensive and thorough investigation into the deprivation of civil rights of Ahmed Mohamed by MacArthur High School and the Irving Police Department.
Ahmed Mohamed, a freshman at MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas, was suspended from school, handcuffed in front of his peers, and arrested on Monday for bringing a homemade clock to his school.  His story has sparked a national dialogue on bigotry and anti-Muslim sentiment.
