Webinar: Election Do’s and Don’ts for Mosques & Nonprofits
With the 2014 election season underway, many American Muslims, community organizations, and mosques, are actively participating in election-related activities. Mosques, like churches and other related organizations, are considered 501(c)(3) public charities under the tax code, and must follow certain rules to maintain their special tax-exempt status.
To help community leaders navigate the federal tax law that governs the political activities of 501(c)(3) organizations, Muslim Advocates, in partnership with Alliance for Justice (AFJ), will hold a webinar on lawful election activities by mosques and 501(c)(3) entities on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Board members, officers, and imams, as well as lawyers who advise mosques and nonprofit entities, are strongly encouraged to participate.
The guidance offered by Muslim Advocates and AFJ will help organizations mobilize and plan their efforts in a way that does not jeopardize their 501(c)(3) status. Please join us.
