May 18th Webinar: Update on President’s Pledge to Protect Zakat
In his historic address in Cairo last year, President Obama pledged to ease hurdles to charitable giving facing American Muslims. With the one-year anniversary of that pledge approaching, Muslim Advocates is hosting a webinar discussion for community members and nonprofit leaders. The webinar will provide an update on the President’s pledge and steps the community can take to help ease hurdles to charitable giving. The webinar will be lead by Akil Vohra, Counsel, Muslim Advocates.

Information for IRS Form 990 Filers
On Tuesday, April 27th and Wednesday, April 28, Muslim Advocates hosted webinar trainings on filing Internal Revenue Service Form 990, a document many nonprofits must submit to government by May 17. Last year, the IRS instituted many changes to Form 990 that cover new financial data and questions pertaining to how an organization governs itself.

U.S. Muslim Charities Urge Pres. Obama: Keep Cairo Commitments on Zakat
